Skyfall - Bond premiere
The Hipcats were asked to provide a cool lounge duo at the Skyfall
premiere. The guests were treated to canapés and
cocktails as the film finished whilst The Hipcats provided some suitably
smooth jazz on a stage amongst the roulette tables.

Accolade Wines & the Travel Retail Consortium
Accolade Wines were organising this year's Travel Retail Consortium
event and decided to book The Hipcats for their New Orleans themed weekend
at the Bath Spa Hotel. The Hipcats organised an instrumental trio
for drinks on the Friday evening and then a six-piece for the big dinner
event on the Saturday night.
The band was a truly stellar line-up which included a horn section used
by the likes of Scissor Sisters and Noel Gallagher.
As a surprise for the guests the band organised a classic New Orleans
funeral march (!!) through the drinks reception which led them into the
main hall with the music turning into the classic 'When the saints go
marching in'

Pret
a Manger
Nick, lead singer of the The Hipcats, was asked to put together a
completely acoustic jazz band for a launch of a new coffee shop in Woking.
He both sings and plays guitar so put together a mainly instrumental trio
and entertained the crowds outside the shop the weekend before it opened
whilst Pret gave away free coffee and cookies - this was so successful
that The Hipcats were back on the opening weekend. The band kept it
fresh by having guitar, double bass and saxophone one weekend and then
having a trumpet the second weekend.
Pret were so pleased that The Hipcats were invited to do the same in
Horsham - on the first weekend they played in the shop window and when it
opened on the second weekend they kept the crowds entertained outside.

The
American Museum
The American Museum's 50th lunchtime
gala was attended by a wide range of guests including Winston Churchill's
daughter Lady Soames, Angela Ahrendts the CEO of Burberry and Duran
Duran's John Taylor. The Hipcats played music before and after lunch, put
on some suitable MP3 music while guests were eating and then our PA was
used for the speeches (which included a personal message read out on
behalf of Barack Obama).
